Akumajou Dracula

Akumajō Dracula (also known as Castlevania) is a 1986 Famicom Disk System side-scrolling horror action platformer video game developed and released by Konami in Japan on September 26, 1986. Transylvania enjoyed a century of peace thanks to the legendary hero, Christopher Belmont, a vampire hunter who vanquished Count Dracula one hundred years earlier with a holy whip named Vampire Killer. While the Easter celebration carried on with a grand carnival, evil men gathered in a monastery at the edge of the village and conducted a black mass to resurrect Count Dracula. The men succeeded in bringing their master back. A bolt of lightning enveloped the monastery where they held the rite, signaling the resurrection of Count Dracula. When the Count returned, his Castle, which had fallen one hundred years prior, reappeared in Transylvania, and his legions of loyal minions reformed. Simon Belmont, the descendant of Christopher Belmont, knew that as a member of the Belmont Clan and the current wielder of the Vampire Killer whip, it was his duty to bring peace and stability back to Transylvania by destroying Dracula.

Castlevania

This is a 1:1 port of the NES version of Castlevania, running on the SNES. It is utilizing FastROM/HiROM. This has been tested in Mesen2, MiSTer, on original hardware via FxPak Pro, as well as a physical cart using a MouseBite Labs HiRom board. NES sytle music is provided via Memblers 2A03 Emulator. ## Additional Features MSU-1 Audio music is supported. If your platform supports MSU-1 Audio, there are 6 included packs available. Additionally, the following Quality of Life options are available: 1. Difficulty Levels a. Normal - This is the standard NES game difficulty b. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Five years ago, Richter Belmont, the latest in the Belmont lineage and the one destined to be a Vampire Hunter, defeated Dracula in a brutal battle which nearly cost him the love of his life, Annette, and her sister, Maria. Now, Richter has suddenly vanished, CastleVania has mysteriously reappeared, and Maria, now a young woman, sets off to find Richter. Alucard, the son of Dracula, is awakened from his eternal slumber after this large shift in power, and enters into Castlevania to find some answers and perhaps destroy the castle once again. Symphony of the Night is a direct sequel to Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. The game is set in a castle which you can explore freely with many different paths, although often items in certain areas need to be found that will allow passage to others. The action-based gameplay incorporates now strong RPG elements. The hero receives experience points for defeating enemies, gains levels and becomes more powerful. There is also money to be found in the game, and various accessories to buy. In a separate screen, players need to equip attack weapons, shields and other items. Magic plays an important role, as well as secondary weapons and a large amount of "special moves" that are executed similar to advanced one-on-one fighting games.
